This is Jakob Jakobsson. Jakob is an Icelander living in Greenland that earlier this week finished Arctic Circle Race. The race takes place through the magnificent countryside around Sisimiut on Greenland’s west coast approx. 65 km north of the Arctic Circle. The total race distance is 160 km. The three-day race takes competitors through the magnificent, varied and sometimes harsh Greenlandic terrain. It was an honor for us to keep Jakob warm in this challenging race.
This here is Vilborg Arna. Vilborg has taken on challenging and demanding projects in order to follow her dreams. In 2012, Vilborg crossed the Greenland glacier and on January 17th 2013, Vilborg became the first Icelandic person to ski solofrom the coast of Antartica to the South Pole – travelling over 1140 km to reach the South Pole, exactly 101 years after Robert Scott and his team did so in 1912. Since then she has reached Denali, Elbrus, Carstensz Pyramid, Vinson Massif, Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro. Now she will attempt to become the first Icelandic woman to reach the top of Everest. Vilborg use 66°NORTH garments in all her expeditions and we are extremely proud of working with her. For those of you who want to follow her Everest expedition and get to know her better, please check http://www.vilborg.is/
